Instead of landing at 3PM, got in at 10pm after the setup was closed. No response from our outreach to the origins crew. Came in early just to find out they gave our booth away, waited another 2 hours to get a spot. Then given a spot right next to an electrical outlet. games through PRODZ and trashtaste eventually learned there are alot of boardgames than just monopoly and uno, looked at a ton of best gateway boardgames and eventually settled on caracassonne and Collection. Unfortunately, there is no rulebook attached! I’ve been trying to figure out how it was played just by analyzing the board&#39;s layout and translated texts.</p> <p>Has anyone played a vintage game with a similar tracking system in the top corners? How do you think the hazard tracks and the map movement interact? Any insight is appreciated!</p> <p>Here is what I’ve pieced together so far. I&#39;d love to hear your theories!</p> <ol> <li><p>The Flight Paths. It looks like you start and end in Rome, traveling across the board using four alternative colored routes (red, blue, yellow, green). Movement is likely by throwing one die. Some paths are dotted, i belive either you have the option to take this route or somehow skip it.</p></li> <li><p>Weather Hazards. On the bottom left side, there is a legend showing various weather hazards (wind storms, cyclones, blizzards). These symbols are drawn directly over the paths. My guess is that crossing them triggers a penalty, maybe you lose a turn or your movement is cut in half?</p></li> <li><p>Strategic Locations &amp; No-Fly Zones. The bottom legend also lists three specific location markers: Important Radio Stations, Important Oil Centers, and No-Fly Zones. These are found inside several circled stops and beside the paths. Any ideas on how these would function mechanically? Would oil centers give you a movement boost?</p></li> <li><p>The Penalty Track. On the upper left corner, there is a track labeled Penalties (Forced stops and refueling) numbered 1 through 10. I&#39;m guessing players have a secondary token to accumulate these penalties. And reaching the 10th space means you lose the game.</p></li> <li><p>The &quot;Long Routes&quot; Track. The upper right corner has a similar 1 through 10 track for Long Routes (Intercontinental and transoceanic flights). Space 8 and 9 is &quot;Rescue&quot; (probably other player or with a special mechanic you lower this count) and Space 10 is &quot;Death&quot;, GAME OVER. Does taking shortcuts (not diverting in the dotted lines?) push you up this track until you crash? haha.</p></li> <li><p>The Airplane Scoreboard. Lastly, there is a Totalizzatore (Scoreboard) right in the middle on the large airplane graphic, numbered 1 through 10. usertext-body"> <!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Got this when I was a bachelor and we played the hell out of this on hang out nights. Anyone can jump in and play. We even got real girls to play it with us.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Anyway. We wanted more game so we added some stuff.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Stones to mark the board because the cards were so cumbersome.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>A bunch of hand drawn cards made by my little brother. I wrote the text. I drew like 2 or 3 of them and you can easily tell which onese. :P</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>2 new classes Barbarian and Cleric. Double sided cards other side has rules text to match the base cards.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>And Loot. The Game did not have any cool items.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Clear a room roll a d6. On a 5 or 6 you get an item instead of money.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>The named bosses have special items. We made some other house rules too.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Played for the first time in a *long LONG* time last night and had a blast.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Now we are gonna make a new game mode. Co op.</p> <p>&#x200B;</p> <p>Adding the cards to the game did something else too. Every time I play it I will remember the night we stayed up SO late making all those cards so we could all get together and surprise everyone with it the next day.
